John Deere has introduced a new addition to its seeding lineup: the C1100T air cart, a high-capacity, precision-focused machine designed to help small-grain farmers plant more efficiently during narrow seeding windows. The cart combines increased capacity with advanced precision technology, allowing operators to cover more acres between refills while maintaining accurate seed placement and application rates.
The C1100T represents the largest air cart in John Deere’s C Series lineup, offering approximately 1,100 bushels of total capacity across four tanks. This expanded capacity allows growers to spend more time planting and less time stopping to refill, which can make a meaningful difference when weather and field conditions compress the seeding window.
Several new technologies are built into the system to improve seeding accuracy and simplify operation. The cart uses John Deere’s AccuRate metering system, which features individually controlled electric meters that precisely deliver seed and fertilizer. This design enables high-resolution variable-rate prescriptions and supports curve compensation and section control, helping ensure consistent product application even when the machine is turning or operating in irregular field shapes.
Calibration has also been simplified. The EZCal system automates the calibration process with push-button operation, eliminating the need for operators to crawl under the cart to manually calibrate bags. The ActiveCal system allows meters to be calibrated directly from the tractor cab while monitoring tank weights, giving operators the ability to fine-tune seeding rates throughout the day as conditions change.
John Deere also focused on improving the logistics of filling and operating the cart. One of the most notable additions is the EZLift system, a hydraulic arm capable of lifting bulk seed bags weighing up to 2,400 pounds. The lift can pick up bags from the ground, truck bed, or trailer and position them above the tanks for unloading, reducing the need for additional equipment during tendering.
The C1100T also features a 12-inch hydraulic conveyor with a stainless steel hopper designed to speed up refilling while improving durability and corrosion resistance. A redesigned front platform with walk over stairs improves access around the cart, making it easier for operators to move safely between components. The cart also includes a 105-bushel Flex Tank, which adds versatility for handling different seed or fertilizer products during planting.
Like other modern John Deere seeding systems, the C1100T integrates with the John Deere Operations Center platform. Operators and farm managers can monitor seeding performance, track remaining product levels, and estimate how many acres remain before a refill is needed. These insights can help coordinate seed tenders and field logistics more efficiently.
With its combination of higher capacity, integrated precision technology, and improved seed handling features, the C1100T is designed to help growers maximize productivity during one of the most time-sensitive periods of the season.
