The inaugural Farm Athletes Golf Classic tees off today at Lochland Country Club in Hastings, Nebraska, bringing together golfers, businesses and supporters to raise money for college athletes from farm and ranch families.
The four-person scramble begins with a 10 a.m. shotgun start, but you don’t have to be on the course to take part. The Farm Athletes charity auction is live now on Tractor Tuesday, and bidding is open to everyone.
Whether you’re playing in today’s tournament, following along from home or simply want to support a good cause, you can bid online throughout the day on sports memorabilia, golf packages, YETI coolers and more. Lots close between 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Central, with proceeds supporting the Farm Athletes scholarship program.
Bid on YETIs, Golf Packages, Sports Memorabilia and More
The charity auction brings together a wide range of items donated by supporters of Farm Athletes.
Sports fans can bid on autographed NFR back numbers from Wacey Schalla and Ryder Wright, a Jamal Murray autographed 8×10, and an autographed Diamond Dallas Page statue. Golfers have several opportunities of their own, including packages from Lochland Country Club, Southern Hills Golf Course and Crooked Creek.
The auction also includes three USGA books, 125 30-second advertising spots through the Nebraska Rural Radio Association, and several YETI coolers, including special Upland Birds and Wetlands Camo editions.
And because the auction is being hosted online through Tractor Tuesday, you don’t need to be at the Golf Classic or even in Hastings to bid. Anyone can participate from their phone or computer until bidding closes at 5 p.m. Central.

Thank You to Pinnacle Bank of Hastings
Today’s event is possible because businesses and individuals throughout the community have stepped forward to support the Farm Athletes mission.
Pinnacle Bank of Hastings is the title sponsor of the inaugural Farm Athletes Golf Classic, providing important support as the organization launches what it hopes will become an annual event.
Farm Athletes is also grateful to the sponsors, businesses and individuals who donated auction items, contributed resources and helped bring today’s tournament together. Every sponsorship, donation and winning bid ultimately helps build the scholarship program and expand what Farm Athletes can do for students from agricultural families.
Supporting the Next Generation of Farm Athletes
Farm Athletes is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created to provide scholarships for college athletes who come from farm and ranch backgrounds.
For many of these students, agriculture has shaped their lives long before they stepped onto a college field, court or track. They grew up helping with livestock, working in fields, fixing equipment and pitching in wherever their families needed them. They bring that work ethic with them as they balance college athletics, academics and the responsibilities that come with both.
At the same time, farm and ranch families can face a unique challenge when it comes to paying for college. A family operation may have substantial assets on paper in the form of land, livestock and equipment, while those same assets are essential to earning a living and keeping the operation going.
Farm Athletes was established to help fill that gap and recognize students whose agricultural backgrounds helped make them the competitors and people they are today.
You Can Be Part of It From Anywhere
Today’s Golf Classic may be taking place in Hastings, but the Farm Athletes mission reaches far beyond one golf course or one community.
That’s why we’re inviting everyone to take part in the charity auction. Browse the items, find something you’d love to win and put in a bid. You might go home with an autographed piece of sports memorabilia, a YETI cooler, a round of golf or a valuable advertising package, while helping a college athlete from a farm or ranch family along the way.
Bidding is open now and lots close between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Central.
